Through a series of carefully crafted questions in my couples’ questionnaire, I gently draw out your story, your values, your humour and your heart. Before you know it, you’ll have the perfect words to say, written in your voice, with confidence and clarity.
And because no two couples are the same, I always check in with how you feel about sharing those vows on the day. Some couples love the idea of keeping their vows a surprise until that moment in the ceremony—letting their words land for the first time in front of their partner and their loved ones. It can be emotional, uplifting, unforgettable.
But let’s be honest: for some couples, that idea feels like total hell.
There’s No “Right” Way to Do It—Just Your Way
If the thought of speaking vows out loud on the day makes you anxious, don’t worry—you’re not alone. Many of my couples choose to have their personal vows included in the ceremony in a different way. I can deliver your vows on your behalf in the style of a ‘Do you promise…?’ exchange, where you simply respond with ‘I do’.
In one case, a couple felt so nervous they didn’t even want to repeat the ring exchange wording—and that’s absolutely okay too.
